Kell On Earth Gave Me Life

So last night as I was watching TV, because I have nothing else better to do, my TiVo reminded me that Kell On Earth was premiering at 10pm. I cried tears of joy because I had been waiting patiently for her brutal, harsh, hilarious honesty. And then after watching the show - it was everything I dreamed it would be, plus more!

I sat smiling for the entire hour loving every minute of it. The key scene in my head from the show was when Kelly stated how the real fashion industry is. Not like The Hills where they go to work for 15 minutes, get some coffee, walk around, and leave. No. People cry (have to go outside though), yell, cuss, stay until 1am. That is the true fashion industry. And I love how she exposed it.

I was in class today and I asked a friend did she watch Kell On Earth last night and she responded "Yeah it was great. But now I know I don't want to do fashion PR." Fantastic. I hope Kelly weeds out all the unnecessaries.

What did you guys think of Kell On Earth? And if you haven't watched it & you want to be in the fashion PR industry, I strongly suggest you do.

I'm seriously similar to a little kid who loves lots and colors and gets absolutely enthralled by the brightness and textures of pictures. When I first saw this Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2010 ad campaign I literally stopped what I was doing and couldn't stop looking at all the pretty things. He is so creative and really engages everyone into his art. He makes me want to buy those 12 inch heels that I could never wear anywhere, ever.

My girl Beyoncé has a new fragrance, “Heat,” coming out at the end of January. She told WWD that a lot of her performances involved heat so that would be best name for it. The scent is made up of red vanilla, orchid, magnolia, neroli, and blush peach which sounds sexy and makes me want to go out and invest. The ad campaign for the fragrance is also suppose to be sexy as she stated, “it’s called Heat, so we wanted the ads to be really steamy and dewy,” she said. “My sexiest moments are when I’m just getting out of the tub or the shower and I’m clean, so I wanted to incorporate that in the ads. The dress was this liquid-y satin." Owwwwww! LOL

I'm use to waiting months and months for the next season to come on and I don't mind it because it make it a little more special. I hope Lifetime doesn't change it so that there's a Project Runway spring, summer and fall. That's too much. But anyway's I'm excited about it coming back. And they're back in New York! Woo hoo.

So today I had an interview with one of my favorite fashion magazines and the girl who interviewed me asked, "who are some of your favorite designers." And for me I really didn't have to think about the answer. Number 1: Marc Jacobs (even though I didn't say that to her because he's everyone's favorite designer; simply because of the fact MJ can do no wrong). Number 2: Alexander Wang. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I describe my style as "tomboy chic." You can most likely catch me in a v-neck, some skinny jeans, and some fly heels (or boots). I rarely wear dresses. And to me, Alexander Wang embodies that "tomboy chic." And number 3: Jason Wu. He became huge after designing Michelle Obama's inauguration dress and the boy is on fire. Recently he showed his pre-fall 2010 collection and I love it! It does have a lot of dresses but they are simple, classy, and easily accessible to wear almost anywhere. So if you have not heard of the 13-year-old Tavi, writer of Style Rookie, you've been living in a box. She's sat front row at New York Fashion Week, appeared on the cover of magazines, landed a gig writing for Harper's Bazaar, was guest of honor at Rei Kawakubo's holiday party in Japan, and created a friendship with the Rodarte sisters. A friendship so great, they teamed up to create a video for Rodarte's collection for Target. She's freakin fantastic. I love this girl! I’m not usually a bracelet girl, however I do wear a watch everyday; things on my wrists get on my nerves lol. But after seeing these cuffs made by Texas native Leigh Navarro, I may want to invest in some. The big trend this season was bangles stacked high but I just couldn’t get with it. But I like how these cuff can stand on their own. The brand Leighelena makes a wide array of cuffs in different materials and prints such as black stingray and grey lizard, with either silver or gold fastenings. What do you guys think?

Forever 21 has launched their new beauty product line, love & beauty, which is fully stocked at 135 locations while partially stocked at the remaining 305 locations. The line consists of beauty products for lips, eyes, face, nails, fragrance, and tools and accessories such as cosmetic bags, tweezers and makeup brushes with nothing over $10. You also can purchase the products on Forever21.com. While I don’t wear that much makeup and I’m definitely not makeup savvy, I’m not sure if I would wear Forever 21 makeup? I think the prices are great but I’m just curious about the quality. Forever 21 spokeswoman Kristin Nagle stated, “We are using a lot of the vendors that are making prestige cosmetics. It is the same quality as prestige vendors, but at Forever 21 prices.” So maybe the quality is there? Would you buy Forever 21 makeup or other beauty products?

One of my favorite magazines Elle, who has the lovely Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover this month, finally has a new fashion director to replace Nina Garcia. Garcia left Elle April 2008 and is now the fashion director at Marie Claire as well as one of the regular judges on Project Runway. The new fashion director, Alexis Bryan Morgan, will start her job at Elle in January after finishing up at Vanity Fair as their executive fashion editor. I wonder if she’s going to be on the next season of The City hating Olivia as much as Erin does? lol.

So Lady Gaga performed "Bad Romance" on Gossip Girl last night. I don’t even watch that show but I TiVoed it just for the Gaga performance (can’t you tell I’m a tad bit obsessed with her?). She wore the longest dress ever and, of course, had the nipple pasties on to show the world she does not give a damn. The performance wasn’t that long and engaging and it definitely was nothing like the video but it was just enough Gaga for me. Thanks Gossip Girl.

It was only $18.99 and one of the employees actually made the necklace herself. She said the fringe was from the 1970s and she hand dyed it herself. The actual chain was from the 1960s...or 20s? Personally, I would describe my style as tomboy chic. Many times I like throwing on a tshirt with cute jeans and either flats (when I’m on campus, these Tallahassee hills aren’t a joke) or heels. I don’t like to look like a complete boy because, simply, I like being a girl. But one trend I think can incorporate that boyish look with a little girly twist is distressed/ripped jeans.

One of the things I love most about fall/winter are the fall/winter clothes. I love wearing my boots, long sleeve shirts and throwing on a cardigan to top off the outfit. The one I have on is from Forever 21, I got it a few seasons ago.

Also, Miss J is said to be going back to being just the runway coach instead of a judge. Supposedly Vogue Editor, Andre Leon Tally will be taking his seat. I guess we’ll see next season. Woo hoo!

So I go to school in the most tropical place in America, Florida. And this week hurricane Ida decided she wanted to bless us with her presence. I’m from the northeast so I’m not use to psychotic downpours of rain and wind that literally blows me off my feet (sheesh I only weigh like 100 lbs). But I figured since I’m here I’d better get use to it. One thing I never really needed to buy back at home were rainboots. But since in Florida it’ll rain even when it’s 100 degrees and the sun is out, I thought I should invest.

My grandmother bought me these cute Juicy Couture rainboots last year at Bloomingdales. They’ve been very helpful in my struggle to get to class without looking like a wet dog. Here are some other rainboots I thought were cute and you might like.

Okay well my life got a little better this week (it was already going great thanks for asking) because she’s in an editorial spread for the December issue of Vogue. The spread was shot by Annie Leibovitz and was inspired by the story of Hansel and Gretel. I believe she’s the witch in the story, looking as crazy and fierce as ever. I love this Lady.

One of the things I am obsessed with is shoes. I love heels, boots, my converses, everything. But one type of shoe I seem to never have enough of are ballet flats. Every time I buy them they just end up disappearing into the depths of my closet. This summer I bought a pair of Steve Madden black ballet flats to wear during my internship at Glamour, and by the end of the internship, I literally had holes where my toes should be. Needless to say, I need to keep refilling stock. I think they’re great to have if you live in a city because you can just throw them in your bag and change into them when needed. And you can put them with any outfit. You’ll especially need them if you work/intern in the fashion industry because you are literally running around all day. Pakistan's First Fashion Week

Pakistan had its first Fashion Week that launched last week amongst security concerns and the Taliban to the north. The four-day event was rescheduled two times because of security fears but was nevertheless a successful event. No foreign buyers or designers were invited because of security measures but fashions were a mix of couture and ready-to-wear. “Many designers made reference to the turmoil, reflecting the contradictions and tensions coursing through this society,” according to the AP. “Some women strode the catwalk in vicious spiked bracelets and body armor. Others had their heads covered, burqa-style, but with shoulders — and tattoos — exposed. Male models wore long, Islamic robes as well as shorts and sequined T-shirts.”

The show took place in Karachi, the largest most cosmopolitan city in the country, at a five star hotel next door to the American consulate. The location is only two hours by plane ride for al-Qaida and Taliban. Nevertheless, the CEO of Fashion Pakistan Week, Ayesha Tammy Haq, was optimistic. “This is our gesture of defiance to the Taliban…there is a terrible problem of militancy and political upheaval ... but that doesn't mean that the country shuts down. That doesn't mean that business comes to a halt."

One of the trends I’m still loving is boyfriend jeans. On the day’s I feel like a complete fatty and don’t want to wear tight jeans, I always throw on my trusty Seven For All Mankind boyfriend jeans that can be dressed up or down. Here are a cute pair by Calypso for $225.

Every time I go out, I always complain about not having any good jewelry. And it’s true, I need a serious upgrade in the accessories department of my wardrobe. Top 10 Finalist For Vickie's Secret Angel

Victoria’s Secret has picked their top ten finalist in their nationwide search for the next “Angel.” The models are aged 18-25 and are going to be put through an “Angel Bootcamp” to get them ready for the show. They will have to do things such as “"a series of challenges where the contestants will show their photogenic qualities, prove their abilities as a spokesmodel, show off their red carpet star quality and radiate charisma while walking a runway in lingerie,” according to their press release. You’ll be able to see all this on VSAllAccess.com and CBS.com because we, yes us America, will be judging these chicas starting November 9. Yup, we’re picking the angel who will walk the runway on December 1 on CBS. I watch a lot of America’s Next Top Model, hopefully I can make my best educated guess on who I think should be a Vickie’s model?

My day just became great. As I was looking through my favorite magazine’s website, Glamour.com, I saw that not only will Michelle Obama be on the cover of the December issue, but Rihanna will have her own cover as well. Rihanna is one of my favorite celebrity style people and I love seeing her in a picture – she always looks amazing. Not only that, but she was nominated as a Woman of the Year by Glamour and breaks her silence about what happened to her that night with Chris Brown. I really don’t have an opinion on that, because it’s not my business, but I’d love to see what she has to say and see some of the photos Glamour took of her for the issue. (as you can see I’m more concerned about her outfits than the issue-at-hand lol). Well anyways, hooray for my girl Rihanna! I hope she’s doing better nowadays. I Love...Christian Siriano

Chrisitian Siriano is working on his next fall line, and if you saw his Spring 2010, it’s sure to be a good one. He says that it will be “very dark – that’s the only thing we’re going with right now.” That seems to be a recurring trend each fall: dark, neutral colors. “It’s very gothic, kind of like a swamp, but we wanted it to be really feminine.” Personally, I don’t want to be wearing anything swamp-ish (mostly because I go to Florida State, booo Gators), but if Christian Siriano says it’s going to be good, I believe him.

Siriano is also busy with a spinoff reality show for Bravo. Um, why am I just finding out about this? But the show, which is untitled for now, is said to follow him during the creation of his spring 2010 and fall 2010 lines. He states, “it’s very like The September Issue, very Valentino [The Last Emperor]. We want it to be as real as possible.” Well, if it’s anything like those, count me in. He continues, “I think it’s best to be as normal as possible, and luckily, I just happen to be entertaining already.” The show is said to be documentary-style and feature him being “serious” and even talking to the camera. I love this guy.

Black Is The New Black?

What is going on in the magazine industry? I’m all for creative expression and being fashion forward, but why do magazines and the fashion industry feel the need for this ‘blackface’ trend? Remember Lara Stone’s controversial blackface editorial spread in French Vogue? And on Wednesday night, Tyra Banks whipped out some blackface makeup for a photo shoot where the shorties were portraying different races. Now V Magazine shot model Sasha Pivovarova in blackface posing opposite Heidi Mount. Not going to lie, the girl looks pretty black; but there are plenty of beautiful black models who they could have shot and would have used a lot less makeup. Dear fashion industry, pick a new controversial trend, please. Sincerely, everyone.

Fashion's Night Out Will Be Back!

Good news all my New Yorkers, Fashion’s Night Out will be back! Woo hoo! Even though I was unable to attend this year because of school (booooooo), next year I’ll be there like no ones business. Because there was such a positive response to the event this year, they decided that bringing it back could only stimulate more business for the companies involved. In a statement given by Anna Wintour about Fashion’s Night Out Pt. 2:

“We were absolutely bowled over by the response to Fashion’s Night Out. It was only fifteen minutes after the event began and we were getting reports about lines around the block at stores throughout the city,” said Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour. “It was wonderful to see people embrace this initiative, and we are thrilled that they wish it to return.”

I’m thrilled they decided to keep this going. It shows the importance of the garment industry and how it really does affect the economy today. Because of its success, I’m thinking other New York retailers who didn’t participate this year would be interested in participating next year. Ahhhh it’s like the Superbowl of fashion.

Michelle Obama On The Cover Of Glamour

Just when I thought I couldn't love Glamour anymore, they go and put Michelle Obama on the cover of the December issue. Yayy! The December issue of Glamour has their annual "Women of the Year"recipients and, of course, Michelle Obama is one. Glamour honored her not for her style, which is impeccable may I add, but for her role in mentoring young women. She is also the first First Lady to ever appear on the cover of Glamour magazine.

Cindi Leive said she was thrilled to go and photograph Ms. Obama in the white house and was even more excited to ask her a few questions readers wanted to know.

When asked about mentoring young women, she went on to say:

“I think that mentoring is such a critical part of the role I can play in this position. I see how little bits of exposure and big bits of exposure really change my girls significantly, and I want that for more girls around the country and the world.”

She also goes on about her style and the hype it gets:

“People are always going to have opinions, and people have a right to their opinions, particularly when you’re the First Lady; you’re representing the nation. So I can’t be surprised that people are interested. But I’ve tried to be at peace with the choices that I make first, and then be open to everyone else’s reflection.”

She even gets into details about guys!:

“Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul...When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good...You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole.”

The Nipple Pasties Are Back

Just when we thought the trend was going out, NOPE! Lady Gaga has whipped out the nipple pasties for her preview on Gossip Girl. But on the positive side, she's wearing the nipple pasties overtop her outfit, but it still kind of looks a little see-through. The plot in which said outfit/pasties are used is one where Blair gets Gaga to put on a private show. Leighton Meester described Lady Gaga as "very avant-garde and kind of gothic." Supposedly, Ms. Gaga is wearing a "30-ft. long stage dress" reported by People. Well, since she hasn't worn pants since, ever, this is a great way to finally throw in some fabric. The episode premiers November 16 titled "The Last Days of Disco Stick."

5 Reasons Why I Love The November Issue Of Glamour

To be honest, I’m pretty biased on this subject matter, especially since I worked there over the summer. Nonetheless, I still love this magazine. From the eye-catching layouts to their fashion stories, Glamour makes me happy. Read why:

One, I am like a small child, extremely A.D.D., loves color, shapes, and textures, so of course, the cover of Glamour with Scarlett Johansson grabbed my attention immediately. She’s wearing a simple heart t-shirt by Lanvin ($733, SPLURGE!) that honestly, makes me happy. It’s just a t-shirt, yet I am so intrigued…maybe it’s because Scarlett Johansson is so freaking gorgeous and I secretly have a girl crush on her, I don’t know? Whatever the case is, I love it – you had me at hello :)

Then flip to page 46 and check out the ‘Dare of the Month,’ hilarious! I remember when working at Glamour Ranya Fattouh, Executive Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief, dressed as Lady Gaga and walked around Times Square and the Condé Nast building. That was a funny moment. But this ‘Dare’ is even more hilarious. They hired two actors to play a “cougar-type” couple, a 70-year-old woman and 24-year-old man. Wow, to say the least. The best part is seeing people in New York’s reaction!

Now on to my favorite part of any magazine, the fashion features. Let the bias-ness begin! Now, I know exactly who writes these, and maybe that’s why I love them so, but to be honest, I don’t care. I loved the ideas on how to wear your dress in the fall and how to incorporate floral (still a big trend). The ‘Fashion My Way’ with Rory Tahari about style was also really helpful for anyone needing style advice. And then Suze Yalof Schwartz’s tips for dressing your body is always helpful for women of all body types and shapes who need help finding the best bra, the best body shapers, and everything else in between.

The Life & Happiness section of Glamour is always so positive and fun to read, and I loved their “We’re Going To Teach You To Be Rich” article. We all hope to be that one day, right? Well, the tips they gave were really great ways to progress your dreams of one day living lavishly like the many people we secretly hate. They even throw in a tip from Ivanka Trump and a personal finance expert.

And their ‘Real Stories’ are always touching and relatable to current times and struggles. They discuss an issue about health care, and even throw in an Obama story (not about health care).

Gucci: The Movie

Just when I thought movie's couldn't get better, Ridley Scott, obviously extremely smart, is making a movie about the fashion house Gucci. I love it. His movie titled, Gucci, is about the life and struggles of Maurizio Gucci, his family, and his successful fashion house. Angelina Jolie is said to be playing Patrizia Reggaino, Maurizio's ex-wife who plotted to kill him. The movie will focus on Gucci's success in the 1970s and 80s when they were pulling in $500 million annually. Sheesh. Eventually, however, Maurizio is murdered by a hitman after an inter-family power struggle. Leonardo DiCaprio is said to have been approached to play Mr. Gucci himself, but nothing is yet confirmed. Doesn't matter to me much because I'm excited either way, yay!

A Dozen Pairs Of Louboutin's For $40!

Christian Louboutin will be offering 12 pairs of its red bottom heels for only $40 a set. WOW! What a deal, right? Well, unless your name is Barbie, you won't be able to fit them. That's right, our favorite girl Barbie (or should I say woman) will have an entire collection of the red bottom heels added to her already fabulous accessories collection.

Christian Louboutin is making three dolls, packaged in Louboutin shoe boxes that each come with 4 pairs of Barbie-size Louboutins. The three dolls will be released in December, February, and May -- all having different themes. In December she will be a jewel-thief, February she'll be in the safari, and in May she's heading to the Cannes Film Festival. In September, the shoe collection that will feature 12 pairs of Louboutins will be available for $40 on both sites.

French Vogue Does Blackface

Yikes! Well if French Vogue wanted some attention, they sure did get it. For this month's supermodel issue, French Vogue decided to paint supermodel Lara Stone in blackface makeup; instead of just using a black model...hhhmmmm. Not only that, the magazine and French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld praised Lara Stone for the "radical break with the wave of anorexic models." Well she's only a size 4. And although that's bigger than a size 0, it's not much of a difference. And as they praised Lara for her breakthough as an over-the-size-zero model, French Vogue included models who would be exclaimed as anorexic or most likely a size zero: Kate Moss, Kristen McMenamy, Yasmin Le Bon, Eva Herzigova, Caludia Schiffer, Anna Selezna, Diane Kruger, Constance Jabolski and Eniko Mihalik. Well, thanks for trying to include everyone, but I think you failed French Vogue.

Alexander McQueen Gives Me Life

So as Paris Fashion Week goes down in the fashion capital of the world, I start to realize why it really is the fashion capital of the world. From the shows I've seen so far, Chanel, Valentino and Louis Vuitton's live feed this morning (eastern time) of their show, Paris Fashion Week is a success. But no show gave me life like Alexander McQueen's and his fabulous ten inch heels. They were studded out with jewels and really were something to talk about. His clothes were amazing too, inspired mainly by reptile prints and beautiful blues and greens. He went the Lady Gaga route and put mainly pants-less items in his collection, which already gets me hyped for next spring and summer. To check out the actual video of his show, click here.

Real (Gay) Househusbands of New York City?

Something great thing in my life happened today, I read in one of my favorite blogs that there might be a gay version of Real Housewives. And guess who is rumored to already be signed on to the show? Marc Jacobs. Let's see, one of the best designers: check. Being one of the only men who can pull off wearing a skirt, check. Being in a reality show that already has a huge popularity and might even be better with gay men and might possibly have more bitchiness and cattiness then all of the housewives combined: check, check and check. The show is said to be a gay version of Real Housewives, which is reportedly said to be named Kept, created by the team who brought us Real Housewives. It will be featured on the gay network Logo sometime in 2010. They are doing open casting calls in New York City for "high-powered (openly gay) playboys" in a few weeks, with March Jacobs (hopefully) already on board. Guess I have to upgrade to Direct TV now.

The September Issue

So this past Friday, me and one of my good friends Corey went to see The September Issue (finally). Okay and before you say, damn you guys are late, it's not our fault we go to school in Tallahassee, Fl! Anyways, we went to see it and we both absolutely loved it. It was such a great perspective on the life of Anna Wintour and Vogue overall. We both agreed that Grace Coddington (the Creative Director at Vogue) may be our new favorite employee over at the magazine. She had such a great personality and her vision is amazing. She is the person responsible for almost all the fabulous photo shoots that take place at Vogue. Her and Ms. Wintour together are hilarious because they are always butting heads and disagreeing on what they believe is right.

Andre Leon Tally was also hilarious (and fabulous) but I thought he would be featured a little more than he was. Especially since you always see him and Anna photographed together. During the movie I was so excited because my boss over at Glamour, Jenny Feldman, was in the movie as well. She's in the scene when they are at the party for Thakoon and Gap I believe. She's talking to Thakoon about how his face is everywhere now. That might have been the highlight for me lol.

Overall I thought the movie was great and really showed some key factors that go in the publishing of a magazine. Although in my opinion, it didn't look as crazy as it really is (or could be). Working at Glamour when they were putting out the September issue was crazy. Some nights I wouldn't leave until like 9pm and would be running around like a crazy person all day. But I guess the focus of the movie was more on Anna Wintour and how she is dealing with the September issue, not the rest of the office.

She by Sheree At Fashion Week

So fashion week came and went. I updated on the trends I recognized and loved for the Spring 2010 Ready-to-wear lines, most of them were fabulous. And after looking over them again, I still believe that Charlotte Ronson was definitely one of my favorite. But, I have to add to the list Oscar de la Renta and Christian Siriano; I thought they were elegant and really made a statement.

HOWEVER...

All of my people who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta might have known that our girl Sheree had her line, She By Sheree shown at fashion week....pause.

This is another one of those things that makes me mad. There are designers, REAL DESIGNERS, who are fighting and working hard everyday of their lives to one day be shown at Bryant Park. Being that's been their dream since, EVER. And this chica, Sheree, is at fashion week with no ease? Like it's any other week out the year, no biggie. Wow. Shows you money really does equal power and completely ignoring real talent. But, after looking at the garments she put out during fashion week, they weren't all too horrible.

Ironically, I think she looks the worst compared to all the other designs. It ages her like 30 years. And isn't it funny how she talked so bad about Lisa's jumpsuit during the episode when Lisa was revealing her line, and yet she made an almost identical jumpsuit just in a different color? Things that make you go hmmmm....

Fashion Week Spring 2010

Oh fashion week, you do me right every single season. Especially this season in particular. There were colors, prints, basics, lingerie, everything a girl needs to fill her closet with. But now that fashion week has wrapped up and all the fabulous-ness that is Bryant Park has packed up and moved on to London, it's now time to report and check out the great looks from the runway.

With Spring coming along (obviously) SHORTS were huge on the runway. From short shorts to longer, (but mostly short) many designers incorporated them into their lines.

When I think of DRAPING and luxurious gowns, my mind always goes back to Rami from Project Runway Season 4. The judges use to ask him, is this all you can do? Well, the trend is hitting the runways and designers are showing what they can do.

Stalker Alert: I'm Obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw

Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with Sex & the City, and even more specifically, my boo SJP (Sarah Jessica Parker aka the lovely Carrie Bradshaw). And when I heard they were doing a Sex & the City 2, I.Almost.Died. THEN, while I was in New York this summer, just chillin' at my desk one day at work, I read that Sex & the City needed extras! But sadly, I had to work that day. Nonetheless, it made it oh so real to me that this movie was actually happening!

Anyways, anyone who has seen the first movie saw the fabulous-ness that happened on the big screen in terms of style. Every outfit was perfection and ALL of the lovely Sex & the City women looked absolutely beautiful. But when I came across the picture of Carrie (above) on the set of Sex & the City, I was shocked at the simplicity of her outfit. I absolutely love it. I think it's very now, meaning current trends and how many designers are going back to basics. What do you think of her outfit? Do you think the outfit choices can compete with the first movie?

New York Fashion Week!

Sorry I haven't been updating like I should. I've been moving (drove from NYC to DC to ATL to FLA in a weeks period) and getting settled in school (boooooo!). But there is some exciting news...drum roll...FASHION WEEK STARTS NEXT WEEK! YAYYYYY! Beginning Thursday, September 8 at 9am Michael Angel will be kicking off fashion week followed by one of my favorites, BCBG Max Azria. The day will be pretty long, not ending until 9pm but it looks as if a lot of great designers will be showing and I'm excited to see what pops up on style.com after said shows. Michael Jackson Clothing Line

During one of the Today Show's daily updates on the death of Michael Jackson and all the drama with it, they investigated the possibility of Jackson creating a clothing like Christian Audigier (the maker of Ed Hardy). Before Jackson's death it was rumored him and Christian Audigier were going to create a "chic" clothing line to premier in stores. Audigier and his designers came up with sketches for t-shirts, jackets, gloves (sparkly ones of course), socks, and other accessories. He was even supposedly going to make umbrellas for the line since MJ was mostly always seen with one. Because of Jackson's death, however, nothing was signed and the Ed Hardy designer can still roll out the line. A Jackson Jacket that would have retailed for $250 (if MJ was alive) would now retail for about $500 because of his death. The good news is Michael Jackson had impeccable style and many of the trends today are copied by him from decades ago. The bad news is Christian Audigier is the designer. Can't win every time.

It was crazy because I grew up in an all-black neighborhood and everybody I went to school with was black. I was the only biracial looking girl in my school, and Slash was biracial too, he was just a fucking rock star. I always wanted to play the guitar. I’ve tried, but other things came up.

The new cast of America's Next Top Model has been revealed. Yayyyyyy! Am I the only one excited? After a very long anticipated year, my favorite show is back! There were some bumps and bruises along the way (poor Paulina) but I'm very excited for my short girls. The show is going to air Wednesday September 9 at 7pm -- and it's two hours long. Woo hoo! The first guest judge will be the beautiful Chanel Iman and the rest of the season will have some other great judges as well. I'm rootin' for my girl Ashley because I like her name (lol) and she's an artist (one time for my creative people). Check out CW's website to see all the new girls 5'7 and under.

Flip Flops Can Kill

As if we don't have enough problems in the world today, now our flip-flops aren't even safe. Me particularly, I usually never wear flip-flops; I think they are the lazy mans shoes to wear when you don't feel like finding real shoes (lol). So that's exactly when I wear them, when I feel lazy. But you might want to consider wearing them at all after two reporters trotted around NYC wearing flip-flops for four days and labs found a very deadly germ lurking on the rubber - Staphylococcus aureus. Now, New York just might be one of the grossest cities in the world so that's sort of biased, but germs can spread to any town in any part of the world, they don't discriminate. The deadly germ (we'll abbreviate it SA) can actually kill you if it is seeped into your foot from a cut or scratch. "It can make you pretty sick if it got into a wound and into your blood, where it could attack any of your internal organs," says Dennis Kinney, Ph.D., the manager of the microbiology lab at EMSL Analytical. "If you didn't treat it with antibiotics, you could die from it." The flip-flops that were only worn for four days carried 18,100 bacteria the other pair had 13,900 more than the first (it traveled through many subway lines, Coney Island, and public restrooms). GROSS.

Victoria Beckham At Fashion Week This Fall!

Great News! After spending many years as a singer/model/actress/wife/mother/trendsetter, Victoria Beckham has decided to focus on one career - being a full time designer. After speculations that she was going to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol, Vicky Beckham finally came out and said she was just going to be a guest judge on one episode. Also, she has declined to renew her contract with Emporio Armani underwear as the face of their brand (so sad, did you see the ad with her and hubby David? mmmmm). Now she is set to focus all her energies on her new line which will appear at New York Fashion Week this September. I love this woman.

America's Next Top Model Cycle 13

Oh America's Next Top Model, you give me everything I need, every single season. And now that you're bringing in the shorties, I'm even more excited. But what would the season be without some uber-fabulous judges to grace the presence of my all time favorite show. I'm not gonna lie, when they announced that the beautiful Paulina Porizkova was getting the boot, I was upset. Tyra is known to have a "diva-tude" so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. But come to find out, it may have just them cutting back (it's okay though, Tyra, I still love you).

Nonetheless, the CW does have enough money to supply us with some hot judges for this season that I'm sure we'll all enjoy (or at least I'll enjoy). First up, my girl Chanel Iman. She's young but that girl has been rockin' the runways HARD during fashion week. Also said to be guest judges are Lauren Conrad (from The Hills) and Kim Kardashian (the ex-girlfriend of my future boyfriend). I'm excited what each of them has to say about the ladies 5'7 and under and what tips Chanel can give them. Can't wait to see us short girls unite on the runway this fall. So even though the economy sucks and everyday all we seem to hear about is how bad things are and blah blah blah...I have exciting news to get you, well, excited! Anyone who knows me knows I love designer clothes, shoes, handbags, underwear, everything lol. Shoe Patrol - Parking Spots For Women Only

Seoul, South Korea is creating "high-heel friendly" parking spaces for women drivers in the city. I.love.this.idea. The city has already painted 4,969 pink parking spaces (yes, pink) and plans to paint thousands more private and public parking spaces to be women, and high-heel friendly. The idea came about so that women wouldn't have to walk far from their cars to the mall entrance or wherever their feet take them. The parking space project comes from South Korea's Women Friendly Seoul Project; the city is notoriously known for being "macho" and wants to include women in their thriving city standards. In a way I could see how this could be offensive to women and make you go hm? But on the other hand, anyone that knows me knows I'm kind of lazy (lol). So I would definitely love my very own pink parking space right in the front Tyson's (my favorite mall) so I can walk my 6.5 size foot right on in the front entrance in a matter of seconds. Sounds like a plan to me. What do you guys think?
